Welcome

Welcome to the Tarceva Virtual Press Office - a central online resource for medical and trade journalists, providing fast and easy access to a wide variety of accurate and up-to-date media materials. If you are a journalist writing for a US publication, please visit www.tarceva.com

Tarceva is the only targeted therapy with proven survival and symptom benefit in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Tarceva works differently to chemotherapy by specifically targeting tumour cells and inhibiting their formation and growth - thereby avoiding the typical debilitating side-effects of chemotherapy.

Lung cancer is the most common cancer worldwide with 1.2 million new cases recorded annually. Someone, somewhere dies of the disease every 30 seconds. NSCLC accounts for almost 80 percent of all lung cancer cases and there are few treatment options available. The media play a key role in raising awareness of advances in treatment that can extend life - without compromising it.

This website has been designed specifically to support journalists developing news stories or feature articles about lung cancer. We welcome your comments or suggestions on how we could enhance this resource. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your feedback.

If you are a patient suffering from lung cancer or a carer interested in finding out more treatment information, please visit the Global Lung Cancer Coalition website, www.lungcancercoalition.org.
